Our History

LEGION began in the spring of 2019 in the meeting room at 540 West Main, back when it had a physical space. Milo Primeaux and Kamryn Jerrel sent out a note looking for trans folks who were interested in working together to secure employment safety, rights, and to help each other thrive in the Rochester area.

At that first meeting, we named our dream and brainstormed ways to make it a reality. We shared a vision to build a city in which we could survive and thrive. Where we did not have to shoulder the social and economic burden of a cisnormative, transphobic, racist, and classist society. Where we could work together to build a new reality for trans people in the Rochester area.
